Did you adjust the end at the transom plate or did you just start moving the adjustment on the engine? The RED shift cable that comes thru the transom must be set to a specific measurement at the trunion on the top of the engine. With the trailer that deep in the water i can pull my bow hook with in 5-6' of the winch. it does of course make for a more skittish handling and bumpier ride.
