Nov 14, 2020 · HGIG should be your default setting going forward, but switch to Dynamic Tone Mapping if the HDR implementation doesn't look right even after in-game calibration. There should be no confusion, HGIG is the correct setting to use. Dynamic tone mapping can blow out highlights and crush lowlights into the blacks. This is why HGIG is very good also for non-HGIG games, it disables Tone mapping done by TV and allows you to manually calibrate HDR levels in system settings or directly with in-game calibration screens.
